3D Art, Asset & Pipeline Management, Lighting, Modeling, Rigging (Character), Scripting / Programming, Skinning / Weighting Meshes, Technology recommendations, Tools / API's / Plug-In's.
Job Description:
· Work with the Art Director, Lead Artist and Programmers to develop, test and document features necessary to deliver high-quality titles.
· Provide technical support for members of the team by ensuring proper tool functionality.
· Develop, test and provide instruction on new tools to address the needs of the art team. Provide training on the proper usage of existing tools.
· Profile new and existing assets to ensure optimum game performance.
· Debug malfunctioning/broken assets and tools.
· Continual research of new and/or more efficient pipelines and integrating them into our workflow.
Job Requirement:
· 3+ years experience as Technical Artist; 5+ years work in the games industry
· Strong understanding of Maya and DAG.
· 3+ years experience with Java, Javascript, C++, VisualBasic, MEL scripting or Python(PyMEL) for Maya studio tools.
· Understanding of different Lighting technologies for hardware and software rendering (Mental Ray, Illuminate Labs, Lightmass, GI, Final Gather, Bounced Light and Color Bleed, Lightmapping, Vertex Lighting, Dynamic Lighting, etc.).
· Experience in UnrealEngine3, CryEngine3, and Unity3D is a plus
· Strong problem solving skills and debugging asset authoring pipelines.Pipeline Optimization and efficiency.
· Understanding of version control software (Perforce, SVN) and implications of shared code-base and assets.
· Ability to work within a team of other scripters and tools builders effectively to expand existing scripts that conform to studio standards and workflows.
· Ability to work independently and with others to research and prototype tools, new technologies and project solutions for the studio.
· Ability to multi-task and shift priorities for near-term and long term goals.
· Ability to quickly learn, implement and document/train others in new technologies.
· Clear communication skills: Ability to communicate concepts to technical and non-technical teammates, ability to document in email/SharePoint Docs/Videos.
· Patience and a positive, collaborative attitude.
· Traditional art skills and strong portfolio is a big plus.
